Split a total as evenly as cents allow

The total is parsed directly from decimal text and rounded to two decimal places. Exact half-cent ties round away from zero: 1.005 becomes 1.01 and -1.005 becomes -1.01. Integer-cent arithmetic avoids losing a cent near the amount limit.

Checkable examples

10 split into three shares gives 3.33, 3.33 and 3.34. -10 gives -3.33, -3.33 and -3.34. For 99.99 and 10,000 shares, the first share is 0.00 and the remaining 9,999 are 0.01.

Any leftover cents are spread across the last shares, at most one extra cent each. No two shares differ by more than 0.01, and their exact sum equals the rounded total.

Input limits

Enter exactly one decimal amount, at most 128 characters. The rounded absolute amount must not exceed 90071992547409.91. Invalid text, multiple amounts, exponents and grouping separators are rejected. Results have two decimal places and no currency symbol or thousands separator. There is no separate total line.
