Online Image Partial Blur Tool

Pixelate, blur or cover one rectangular or elliptical region of an image locally in your browser. Processing takes place locally in your browser.

Start using

One image, one selected region

Set the position and size with numeric percentage fields. There is one region per operation. To cover several regions, download the result and select that file for another operation.

Checkable example

On a 1000 × 500 image, the default region starts at (100, 50) and measures 800 × 400 pixels. An ellipse uses the same bounding box. X=90% with width=80% is constrained during processing to the final 10% of the image; the input fields keep the values you entered.

Methods and limits

Pixelate downsamples the region to ceil(region width/block size) by ceil(region height/block size), then expands it without smoothing. Blur applies the canvas blur filter within the selected shape. Solid color fills that shape. X and Y are limited to 0–99.999%; width and height are kept positive and inside the image. Pixel blocks range from 2 to 1000 px and blur radius from 1 to 100 px.

Input limits are 25 MiB and 24,000,000 pixels. The output is a PNG with the original dimensions. PNG encoding is lossless, but the chosen effect changes pixels inside the selected region. Processing happens in your browser.

Check before sharing

Pixelation and blur do not guarantee that sensitive information is unrecognizable or cannot be inferred. For confidential content, use an opaque solid cover and inspect the downloaded PNG at full size, including the region edges. Keep the original file separately.
