CSS Formatter and Minifier

Format CSS for readable review or minify valid CSS to reduce unnecessary whitespace.

Formatting uses syntax parsers in a cancellable background worker; the pasted CSS is not executed or applied to the page. Input and output limits are 500000 and 4000000 UTF-16 code units respectively. The loading phase has a separate 30-second timeout; the processing phase has a 5-second timeout after the worker is ready. These configured limits do not guarantee that every input below the size limit can be processed. Beautify adjusts layout and indentation; minify generates compact CSS and preserves comments beginning with /*! for license notices. Do not assume property optimization, smaller output in every case, or identical quote and escape notation. Check string contents, custom properties and data URLs, and test the result in your target environment.
