File Name Filter

Filters the list of selected files or a selected folder by literal keywords. Controls are include keywords, exclude keywords and match target: relative path (default), filename or extension. Both include and exclude use that same target. It does not inspect file contents or move/delete/rename files.

Keywords are separated by ASCII commas, trimmed and lowercased; empty terms are ignored. At least one include term must be a substring unless include is empty, and any exclude match rejects the file. Matching is case-insensitive by JavaScript lowercasing, not accent-insensitive or a locale-specific collation. No regex, glob, AND-mode or case-sensitive option exists.

Example: include csv, TXT and exclude old in path mode keeps docs/REPORT.CSV and note.txt but rejects old.csv. In extension mode include sv matches both REPORT.CSV and old.csv because matching is a substring of csv; exclude old no longer rejects old.csv because only its extension is examined. Include *.csv is literal and does not match normal CSV filenames.

Extension mode uses the last period-separated suffix without its dot; a filename without any period has an empty extension. Multiple suffixes such as archive.tar.gz use gz. This is a name-based filter, not content-type validation. Results retain relative paths or filenames in selection order, one per line; no matching files produces a no-match message.

Selection above 2000 files is rejected. File contents are not loaded, so the 64 MiB content-reading cap used by other tools does not apply. The tool can only see files the user selects, not arbitrary disk paths or empty folders. Folder picking depends on browser support; mobile users may need individual files.

All filtering is browser-local with no upload or AI. Clear removes the selection and resets results. There is no archive download, size/date condition, CSV export or preview of file contents. Commas separate keywords even in decimal-comma locales; this field contains text terms, not numeric values. Check the displayed paths before using the list elsewhere.
