Format HTML with 2-space, 4-space or tab indentation. Conservative minification keeps comments and whitespace; code stays in your browser.

Formatting uses syntax parsers in a cancellable background worker and does not execute pasted code. Quoted text is preserved. Maximum input: 500000 characters; maximum output: 4000000 characters. Processing stops after 5 seconds; excessive nesting and unsupported syntax produce an error. Review and test the result before using it.

How to use

HTML Formatter and Minifier

Beautify uses the Prettier HTML parser. Select 2 spaces, 4 spaces or Tab, select Beautify, then press Format HTML. Minify conservatively removes attribute quotes where permitted; it keeps HTML comments and whitespace and does not minify embedded JavaScript or CSS. It may therefore produce little size reduction. Beautify restores the original inner contents of script, style, pre and textarea blocks. Results are source text, not a preview or sanitized HTML. Copy all copies the result; Clear cancels a running task and empties input and result without resetting the selectors. The 5-second processing timer starts after the worker has loaded; loading has a separate 30-second timeout. Limits count JavaScript UTF-16 code units. Test rendered behaviour before replacing your source.
