Color Lightener

Increase a color’s lightness by a chosen amount and copy updated values. Processing takes place locally in your browser.

Start using

Color Lightener

Adjust one color with an editable color panel supporting HEX, RGB, HSV and HSL fields and a pointer-based color selector. The default base is #22A06B and the lightening percentage defaults to 20 on a 0 to 100 slider.

Run the generation action after choosing the base and percentage. The algorithm linearly interpolates each RGB channel toward white: output = channel + (255-channel)*percentage/100, with rounded byte values. This is not an HSL lightness increment or linear-light color operation.

For #000000 at 50%, the output is #808080. At 0% the original is retained, and at 100% it becomes #FFFFFF. Out-of-range percentages are clamped and non-finite values are rejected.

The generated result is an editable color panel; changing its fields updates the current color. Clear restores #22A06B and 20% and empties the result. Output includes color values that can be copied.

Processing is browser-local and changes a single color, not uploaded image pixels. It does not measure accessibility contrast, preserve alpha or guarantee a usable text/background pair.

For #3B82F6 at 20%, the result is #629BF8. Generate again uses the base color, not the previous result. Color fields commit when you leave them; invalid HEX text reverts to the last valid color. Copy all copies the original color, percentage and current HEX summary, not all numeric panel fields. Select a field to copy its individual value. There is no file input or download. The native percentage slider uses integer steps.
