Random Test Data Generator

Generate fictional person, email, IPv4, date or JSON test records locally. Synthetic fixtures, not verified personal data.

What Random Test Data Generator does

This tool creates fictional but realistic-looking test data for software development. You can generate rows of person records (name, email, IPv4), email addresses, IPv4 addresses, dates, or JSON objects. The output is intended for use in UI prototypes, import tests, and validation fixtures.

How to use it

Select the type of data you need, specify the number of records (between 1 and 1000), and click the generate button. The tool will produce a table or list of values that you can copy and paste into your project.

Worked example

Input

Type: JSON, Count: 3

Result

Three JSON objects, each with an id, name, email, ip, and date field, for example:

{"id":1,"name":"Alex Smith","email":"user12345@example.com","ip":"192.0.2.1","date":"2026-01-15"}
{"id":2,"name":"Emma Miller","email":"user12346@example.com","ip":"192.0.2.2","date":"2026-01-15"}
{"id":3,"name":"Liam Brown","email":"user12347@example.com","ip":"192.0.2.3","date":"2026-01-15"}

Processing details

Names are sampled from a small built-in list (English-style names for most locales, a Chinese name set for Chinese pages). Emails are constructed as user, a random integer and @example.com. IPv4 addresses are randomly generated and may include reserved or non-routable ranges. Dates are random ISO dates within the last ten years. JSON rows include a sequential id and an ISO date.

Limitations and errors

  • Count must be an integer between 1 and 1000; otherwise an error is shown.
  • Generated data is fictional and not suitable for contacting real people or for security testing.
  • Values are not guaranteed to be unique or demographically representative.

Practical checklist

  • Choose the correct data type for your test scenario.
  • Set a reasonable record count to avoid overwhelming your application.
  • Verify that the generated data meets your format expectations before using it in production.
  • Do not use this data for real user communication or as verified identity information.

Frequently asked questions

Can generated emails receive messages?

No, the emails are fictional and use the reserved example.com domain. They are not deliverable.

Is this data suitable for security testing?

It is useful for ordinary fixtures, but specialist security tests need threat-specific datasets and controls.

Why do I sometimes see non-routable IP addresses?

The generator may produce addresses in reserved ranges (like 192.0.2.0/24) that are not routable on the public internet. This is intentional for testing.

Person rows use tabs between name, email and IPv4, with no header. JSON mode emits one object per line (JSONL), not a JSON array: keys are id, name, email, ip and date. Emails use user followed by a random integer and @example.com. Chinese pages use Chinese sample names; every other language uses a small English-style sample. Dates are UTC YYYY-MM-DD from today through 3,650 days ago. These values are fixtures, not safe network targets.
