Traditional Chinese Two-Hour Period Converter

Enter a local clock time in 24-hour HH:MM form to map it to one of the twelve traditional two-hour Chinese branches.

The mapping uses Zi for 23:00 through 00:59, Chou for 01:00 through 02:59 and continues in two-hour blocks through Hai for 21:00 through 22:59.

Verified 23:45 returns Zi and displays the modern range 23:00–01:00. Invalid values such as 24:00 are rejected.

Only the hour affects the branch; minutes are validated but do not change the result within the same two-hour interval.

This is a simple civil-clock lookup. It does not correct true solar time, longitude, daylight-saving history or historical timekeeping and does not calculate a heavenly stem or a complete birth chart.
