Hue Shifter
Shift a color by a chosen hue angle while preserving its saturation and lightness, then preview and copy the result.
Start using
Hue Shifter
Rotates the HSL hue of one opaque color, not an uploaded image. Defaults are #22A06B and +30 degrees. The advanced panel supports HEX, RGB, HSV and HSL inputs; the hue shift slider spans -180 to +180 degrees. Calculate explicitly to create a separately editable result panel.
RGB is converted to rounded integer HSL; the signed angle is added to hue, wrapped around the 360-degree color wheel, and converted back using unchanged HSL saturation and lightness. This is hue rotation, not RGB channel inversion and not a promise to preserve perceived brightness. Non-finite angles are rejected; HSL rounding can affect exact RGB round trips.
Verified examples: #FF0000 shifted +60 degrees gives #FFFF00, and -60 degrees gives #FF00FF. Achromatic gray has zero saturation, so hue rotation does not add color. Positive and negative angles travel in opposite directions on the HSL wheel.
Clear restores the original default color and +30 degree shift. Editing the result panel overrides the computed output. Processing stays local in the browser, with no AI request, image upload or photo editing. On mobile choose the color and angle then calculate; HEX is an unambiguous output independent of local date/CSV conventions. Check contrast separately before using the result for text.
