What this tool actually does

Generates four equally spaced HSL hues at fixed offsets 0,90,180,270 degrees. Default base is #3B82F6. The advanced input panel supports HEX/RGB/HSV/HSL, followed by an explicit calculation action. Unlike the rectangular tetrad, every hue gap is 90 degrees; there is no angle or color-count option.

Checkable behavior

Verified example: #FF0000 produces #FF0000, #80FF00, #00FFFF, #7F00FF in order. The original base is kept exactly while rotated colors use rounded integer HSL saturation and lightness; channel conversion rounding explains possible differences from other tools.

Controls, output and limitations

The displayed palette text is available immediately on generation. Every output swatch is independently editable and changing one does not rotate the others, so an edited palette need not remain square. Clear restores the default base and clears output.

Explore four hue families for a design, but equal HSL spacing does not mean equal perceived brightness or sufficient text contrast. Check actual foreground/background pairs separately. Browser-local processing, no AI/upload, no contrast score or export-format selector. On mobile calculate after choosing the base and review the four panels; HEX is unaffected by local decimal/date formats.
