Paste up to 500,000 UTF-16 code units and choose parameter encoding with encodeURIComponent, whole-URL encoding with encodeURI, or percent-decoding with decodeURIComponent.

Parameter encoding turns a space into percent-20 and also escapes URL separators such as slash and question mark. Whole-URL encoding preserves structural separators while escaping spaces and unsafe characters.

Decoding converts valid percent-encoded UTF-8 sequences back to text. A malformed percent escape or invalid UTF-8 byte sequence is reported as an error.

The decoder applies decodeURIComponent to the entire input and does not translate plus signs to spaces as HTML form decoding would. The page does not parse or validate URL components.

Everything runs in the browser. This is text transformation, not a URL shortener, redirect checker, punycode converter, security scanner or guarantee that the result is a reachable URL.

How to use

The text box normalizes line breaks to LF before conversion. Each click performs one conversion: decoding %2520 gives %20, not a space. Decoding leaves + unchanged; it does not apply HTML form decoding.

Clear in the action area clears both the input and the result. The small Clear above the text box clears only the input and keeps the existing result.
