Remove Line Breaks

Both modes first normalize CRLF and CR to LF. All mode replaces each LF, so a blank separator of two LF becomes two connectors. Soft mode replaces an LF preceded by a non-LF character and not followed by LF, then reduces every run of three or more LF to two, including runs introduced by the connector. A leading single LF stays; a trailing single LF after text is replaced. A spaces-only separator line is not recognized as a blank paragraph. Other text, indentation and repeated content remain; the tool does not repair hyphenation or recognize visual wrapping. Dollar sequences such as $1 and $& in the connector are literal text.
