Tilt-Shift Image Effect
Place a sharp focus band across a local image and blur the surrounding area. Processing takes place locally in your browser.
Start using
A sharp band with uniform blur outside
Defaults place a horizontal band at the image centre, with 30% of the decoded image height and an 8 px blur radius. For a 1000 × 800 image, the band is 240 px thick. Changing the angle rotates the band; its thickness remains a percentage of image height. This is a visual miniature-style effect, without subject detection or an optical depth map.
Parameter ranges
Focus coordinates are percentages clamped to 0–100, with 50 at the centre. Band width is clamped to 1–100, angle to −360–360 degrees and initial radius to 1–100 px. The increment is clamped to 0–100 and steps to 0–20. Empty or non-finite values use defaults. Zero is valid for focus coordinates, increment and steps.
With Advanced off, the final radius is the initial radius. With Advanced on, it is initial radius + increment × steps, capped at 100 px. The defaults give 8 + 2 × 4 = 16 px. This changes one uniform blur radius; it does not produce a progressive transition across the image or perform a sequence of increasingly blurred passes.
Files and transparency
Input is one image of at most 25 MiB (26,214,400 bytes) and 24,000,000 decoded pixels. These are rejection budgets, not a performance guarantee. The PNG keeps decoded dimensions and the decoded alpha channel, including transparent regions; it is not flattened onto white. Animation and original metadata are not retained. The original file stays unchanged, but an exported blurred PNG cannot reconstruct lost detail.
