Online Batch Image Emboss Effect Tool

Batch process multiple images: generate grayscale emboss texture effect. Processing takes place locally in your browser.

Start using

Emboss strength 0 restores source RGB only when Grayscale is off. With Grayscale on (the default), RGB(100,150,200) at 0 becomes RGB(141,141,141). Every Generate starts from the loaded original, not the previous preview. Turning Grayscale off allows colored output but does not preserve the original RGB values or hues.

What Online Batch Image Emboss Effect Tool actually does

Batch emboss accepts up to 30 selected images and applies one shared Emboss strength, Angle, Reverse emboss and Grayscale setting to every loaded image. Emboss strength is 0-100% with step 0.01 and defaults to 50%; angle is 0-359 degrees with step 1 and defaults to 45 degrees; Reverse is off and Grayscale is on by default.

Checkable example

Verified default-angle example: for a 3 x 3 grayscale ramp from 0 to 8, the center source value 4 is convolved to 148 at 45 degrees. At the default 50% Emboss strength it becomes RGB(76,76,76). Reverse changes the full convolved center to 108 and the same 50% blend to 56.

Controls, output and limits

The angle is rounded to the nearest 45 degrees to select one of eight fixed 3 x 3 directional kernels. Reverse emboss negates every kernel coefficient. Each RGB channel is convolved independently with edge pixels repeated outside the canvas, a bias of 128 is added, and the result is clamped to 0-255.

Emboss strength blends the original and convolved RGB values: 0% retains the pre-filter RGB before the optional grayscale step, 50% takes the midpoint, and 100% uses the full convolution. Alpha and dimensions stay unchanged. If Grayscale is checked, the blended result is converted with 0.299 R+0.587 G+0.114 B; when unchecked, channel color differences remain.

Each input must have an image MIME type, be at most 25 MB and decode to no more than 24,000,000 pixels. The selected batch is capped at 100 MB and 40,000,000 decoded pixels; selecting more than 30 files rejects the whole selection.

Generate creates one browser preview per loaded image. Every result is encoded as PNG and named from the source base name plus -emboss.png. Download all starts separate downloads about 180 ms apart; it does not create a ZIP or preserve the source format.

Processing is local in the browser. This is a fixed-kernel visual relief effect, not depth reconstruction, a normal map, 3D geometry, AI relighting or recoverable surface measurement. Strong settings may clip highlights and shadows or amplify noise; review every preview and retain the originals.

Per image: ≤25 MiB and ≤24,000,000 pixels. Per batch: ≤100 MiB and ≤40,000,000 pixels. Selecting over 30 files or any invalid image rejects the whole batch.
