Online Batch Image Pixelation Tool

Batch process multiple images: generate adjustable pixel block size effect. Processing takes place locally in your browser.

What this tool actually does

The batch page accepts up to 30 browser-decodable images using the multiple file picker or drag and drop. Per-file limits are 25 MiB and 24,000,000 decoded pixels; the batch limits are 100 MiB and 40,000,000 decoded pixels.

Checkable behavior

Pixel block size (px) is the single effect control, with a displayed minimum of 2, maximum of 100 and default of 12. Press Generate image to rerender every loaded image after changing this value.

Controls, output and limitations

The renderer first scales the source down to roughly original width divided by the block size and original height divided by the block size with the intermediate canvas’s default smoothing enabled, then scales it back without smoothing to the original canvas dimensions. The output dimensions therefore remain equal to the source dimensions.

A 1200 by 800 image with block size 12 is sampled through an intermediate canvas of about 100 by 67 pixels and then enlarged, producing visible rectangular color blocks. Larger block values remove more detail; the tool does not selectively pixelate a marked region.

Each generated result is downloaded separately as PNG with -pixelate.png appended to the original base name. No ZIP, output-format selector, metadata retention, face detection, redaction guarantee or animation preservation is provided. Rendering stays local to the browser.

The intermediate width and height are rounded up after division, with a minimum of 1 pixel. Downsampling uses the browser’s default smoothing; enlargement disables smoothing. The block-size field accepts fractions and clamps calculations to 2–100 without rewriting the field; empty or 0 uses 12. Each Generate recalculates from the loaded source. Block dimensions are approximate, and transparency is resampled together with color.

Per image: ≤25 MiB and ≤24,000,000 pixels. Per batch: ≤100 MiB and ≤40,000,000 pixels. Selecting over 30 files or any invalid image rejects the whole batch.
