What this tool actually does

One numeric Pixel block size control defaults to 12 px and is constrained to 2..100. The implementation also clamps manually entered out-of-range values to that interval. There is no mosaic-region selector, face detector, brush, color-palette count or batch control.

Checkable behavior

The browser first downsamples the whole image to ceil(width/block size) by ceil(height/block size), then draws that small canvas back at the original width and height with image smoothing disabled. Output dimensions and aspect ratio therefore stay unchanged.

Controls, output and limitations

Verified sizing example: a 25 by 10 px source at the default block size 12 is reduced to a 3 by 1 px intermediate canvas and expanded back to 25 by 10 px. At size 2 the intermediate is 13 by 5; a value above 100 is treated as 100.

Larger values produce fewer, larger-looking color regions and remove more detail, but the control is an approximate sampling scale: edge blocks can differ in apparent size because intermediate dimensions use ceiling. This is a whole-image visual effect, not reliable anonymization; recognizable silhouettes or text may remain. Use a stronger redaction method for sensitive data.

Load one image, enter a block size, press Generate and inspect the whole result, then download PNG. Press Generate again after changing the value. Processing uses the local browser canvas; preserve the original, and verify privacy-sensitive areas manually before sharing.
